Mr. Githinji is the Synergy’s expert on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) matters. He brings over 16 years of international and resident experience in Environmental Planning, Social Assessment and Management and has conducted several Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) and Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs), carrying out Environmental Audit reports and organizing and carrying out Environmental Health and Safety seminars and training, including public stakeholder engagement in the East African Region.

Throughout his 18-year career, which started with Boeing, the largest aerospace company in the World, and US Department of Energy, he has been a Team Leader in multiple disciplines areas of Environment and Engineering and Project Management. He specializes in the evaluation, design, management, and implementation of large multi-sectoral donor-financed and government implemented projects and has led large, diverse multi-disciplinary technical teams in the technical and Environmental Assessment and Social Safeguards process.

He has consulted widely on safeguards for the World Bank on various projects the bank is financing as an Environmental and Social Specialist on Health, Infrastructure, Devolution, and Climate Change among others. He has also consulted in PPP projects in East Africa, conducted Environmental and Social safeguards audits for Kenya Roads Boards (KRB), prepared Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIAs) and Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs) for roads for the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA), Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KeTRACO), Ministry of Local Government, among others.
